Three fun filled days in Long Island

Why is it that after a three-day weekend you always feel like you need another three days to rest? This weekend was no different. 100_7155Some of the usual suspects loaded up into the silver Jetta and went up to Long Island to celebrate America and Ryan’s birthdays. (Technically Ryan’s 27th birthday isn’t until Tuesday, but who wants to split hairs?) Joining us in Long Island were Catherine and Randi, who took the train in from Manhattan and Hoboken, N.J., respectively. And of course, Ryan’s family who, as always, graciously took us in and made sure we had the best possible time.
There was so much fun had over the three days, that I split the weekend photos into two sets:
100_6946The first set of images will be our ride up there and the big Saturday party, where we got to meet Ryan’s grandmother. One cool lady, who disclosed to us she bought her grandson a pair of silk underwear.

P.S.
Maybe it was the beers the night before, but for some reason my brain wasn’t working Sunday morning when I asked Ryan – in front of people – what state Long Island is in: New York or New Jersey. I will never, ever forget that LI is in New York State. That’s all I have on this topic.
